Women Praying In Groups Of Five For Revival In The United Kingdom

INTRODUCTION

Every revival in the history of the Church has taken place because God took hold of men and women, who in turn took hold of God in prayer, until He poured out His Spirit afresh from on high and changed the hearts and lives of men. Throughout history, God has moved the hearts of His people to pray for Him to move in the affairs of humanity.

Just before He ascended to heaven, Jesus Christ told His disciples, to wait in prayer for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1). Thus, 120 believers, both men and women, waited in prayer for forty days, until God poured out His promised Holy Spirit and began a movement which exists till date.

Consequently, in these last days, God is seeking to pour out His Spirit afresh on the Church again, for an even greater movement on earth. The Holy Spirit is re-awakening, repositioning and preparing the Church for His return. Christ’s predictions about the last days are all being fulfilled, and the Gospel must be preached with power in every nation on earth before He returns! (Matt 24) We urgently need revival, that is, a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit, to give us the power we need share the Gospel of Christ in our nation!

These are truly exciting days, as it appears the Lord is doing something even more unique. God is not only stirring up the Church to prayer, He is stirring up women to arise and position themselves to carry, birth and nurture this fresh outpouring of His Spirit. Historically, women have always been actively involved in the movements of the Holy Spirit, however, the Lord appears to be stirring and raising women up to spearhead the prayer movement that will bring revival in these days! What exciting times we are in, indeed!

God is placing the burden and mantle of prayer and intercession for this nation upon His daughters. God is raising, rallying and uniting women to prayer. The clarion call is out:

WOMEN AWAKE, ARISE, PRAY AND FIGHT FOR THIS NATION!

WHAT IS QUIVER?

A quiver is a case full of arrows. An arrow in a quiver is a strategy or option that could be used to achieve an objective" − Dictionary Online

QUIVER is simply groups of women praying for revival in the United Kingdom. Each group or 'case full' consists of FIVE focused women, passionately and ardently praying to God for revival in the UK. These prayerful women will become 'arrows' in God's hands to fulfil His purposes in the land.

WHY GROUPS OF FIVE?

  1. The number five was given by the Holy Spirit.
  2. Five in Hebrew concept means “well armed,” “with ammunition,” or “well prepared”
  3. Five also symbolises grace. (Hebrews 4:16)
  4. It is easier to gather in small groups than in larger groups

Biblical Examples of Fives

  • Zelophehad's daughters − Numbers 26:33, 27:1-7; Joshua 17:1-6
  • David and Goliath − 1 Samuel 17:40
  • Abigail − 1 Samuel 25:42
  • Feeding the 5000 − Mark 6:35-44
  • Five wise virgins − Matthew 25:1-13
  • The Five-fold ministry: Christ's gift to the Church, consisting of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers − Ephesians 4:11

Other Examples

  • God has 'armed' us with hands and feet, each with five digits, and everyone of them is essential
  • God gave us five natural senses − smell, sight, speech, hearing and touch

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

  1. To pray for revival in the UK − a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the Church − Acts 1:8; Act 2
  2. To pray that the Light, Jesus Christ, will shine again in this nation. To rally and unite women to take a stand for JESUS.− John 1:5
  3. “Thy kingdom come!” Pray for righteousness, peace and joy and God’s will, plans and purposes to be established in this nation − Rom 14:17
  4. To intercede for, restore and raise the next generation.− Isaiah 54:13
  5. To pray for the government and all those in authority so that there will be peace in the land − 1 Timothy 2:1-4
  6. To fight for, take back and restore ALL that has been stolen and lost from this nation − a true Christian Heritage
  7. To have a QUIVER group in every local area, village, town, borough and city in the UK − Isaiah 62:1,6-7; Luke 8:2-4

STRATEGIES

  1. Encourage, inspire and raise women to form prayer groups of five, and meet regularly for prayer.
  2. Introduce QUIVER to churches, women's ministries and other organisations
  3. Maintain a database of QUIVER prayer groups and participating churches, to monitor expansion and effectiveness.
  4. Have QUIVER Reps in every county or borough
  5. Corporate prayer events − breakfast meetings, seminars, trainings, workshops, prayer walks, etc
  6. QUIVER National Women’s Day of Prayer
  7. A newsletter to update everyone about what God is doing
  8. Networking and liaising with other prayer initiatives in the UK.

FOUNDATION & HEARTCRY OF QUIVER

  • ISAIAH 32 AND PSALM 85

QUIVER groups will use Isaiah 32 as the foundation for prayer, and Psalm 85 as the HEARTCRY of QUIVER for the UK. These are not the only scriptures to use when praying, but they form the framework for QUIVER

HOW DO I FORM A QUIVER GROUP?

These guidelines are for people who want to start a QUIVER prayer group.

  1. Prayerfully consider starting a QUIVER group.
  2. Start praying on your own for the church and revival in the UK, using the QUIVER brochure as reference.
  3. Begin to pray and ask God to lead you to other women, men and youth, if possible, who are interested in and willing to pray for revival in the UK. (Luke 11:9).
  4. Decide on the most convenient day of the week and time for the group to meet of prayer.
  5. Also decide on how frequently the group would meet. It could be weekly or fortnightly (every two weeks). Monthly meetings may not be very effective, as the gap is too long. Bear in mind that you may have to change these details when others join the group.
  6. Determine an ideal place for the group to meet for prayer. It may be in your home or a mutually agreed venue.
  7. Contact QUIVER to request a copy of the training manual, for support and/or to include your group on the QUIVER database (if desired).

Please Note: You may start a QUIVER group with any number of people, but the ideal target is five. If your group grows larger than five, please prayerfully consider splitting it up to form two or more groups, which could then go on to recruit more prayer partners. This is one of the ways in which QUIVER will grow and expand.

HOW DO I JOIN A GROUP?

These guidelines are for people who do not want to start a QUIVER prayer group, but would like to be part of one.

  1. If you know of a QUIVER group, ask the group leader if you can join.
  2. If you do not know of a group, please call QUIVER and we will search and link you up with the nearest available group.
  3. Whilst looking for a group, you may start praying on your own for the church and revival in the UK, using the QUIVER brochure as reference.

CAN MEN ANDYOUTH FORM OR JOIN A QUIVER GROUP?

Certainly! The primary purpose of QUIVER is to raise prayer and intercession for revival in the UK, and not to promote gender issues. Hence, anyone who is interested, women, men or youth, may become a part of QUIVER, even though women are the target group. Remember, Apostle Paul was also an intercessor who travailed in prayer (Galatians 4:19). The responsibility to pray and intercede for the Church and nation rests on the shoulders of the corporate body of Christ. So come on board, all who are interested!
